Xanilee is a South-African Singer and Songwriter. She realized she could actually sing at 13 and decided at 16 that music was what she wanted to do for the rest of her life. She took part in an Eisteddfod where she got 96% for an item she did with the song “The little drummer boy”.
She studied vocals at The Campus Of Performing Arts for 3 years and received an NQF4 Certificate. She was awarded with the “most outstanding student of the year” award in 2013 she received this award for her 2nd year at The Campus Of Performing Arts.
She has performed at the launching of L’Oreal’s perfume brand for the youth “black opium” which was a huge success.
She recorded a song and was featured in a music video that was part of a campaign ‘Young Artists Unite Against Xenophobia’ in 2015.
Xanilee was the lead singer of a rock band based in Alberton called “Defy Theory” and released two singles with the band, she decided to leave the band and concentrate on her solo career, and she performed with Chapter 23 at Klipberg Music Festival and performed with Clive Bruce.
She took part in the first season of The Voice South-Africa and Bobby Van Jaarsveld turned for her, she made it up to the Top16. She has performed alongside Dewald Wasserval at Rietvlei’s Youth Day Concert In The Park, and she has opened for Bobby Van Jaarsveld at one of his shows at Mfasa in Bela Bela. Afrikaans, Pop, Alternative Rock and Ballads are the genres she covers. She is busy working on her first album, and she is performing as much as she can with her back up band.
